So true and so sad

Just finished a post, but had to put this up (if you don't watch Futurama you may want to just skip this post):

The comic isn't that amazing, but the text when you hover your mouse over the image is great - I'm glad to see that someone else felt that way about the episode.

Has anyone heard anything about the new episodes?

counterexample:

in HP, the prophecy says that neither (HP or Voldemort) can live while the other survives. TAking that to mean they can't both be alive at the same time in the end, then

1. Either Harry or Voldemort must die.

2. Harry does not die (to save millions of kids around the world major heartbreak.)

so it follows that Voldemort will die in book 7.

-logically valid argument, but are the premises true? Maybe both will die. Or maybe JK Rowling has more Cruella/daring in her than we give her credit for.

it's stupid actually, just arguing over semantics (valid vs sound arguments)...which reminds me of sth. I heard recently but I forget where I heard it: "i offer you my body, and you give me semantics"- any idea?

Anyway, once in Sunday school, though I remember my teacher using this argument to prove that Jesus is God:

Jesus said he was God. So either

1. Jesus was a lunatic

2. jesus was a liar, or

3. Jesus is God.

Somehow he shot down 2, then said. "OBVIOUSLY, Jesus wasn't a lunatic, so it follows that he MUST be God."

It didn't occur to me until much later to wonder why it was so obvious that he wasn't a lunatic.

Isn't it also weird that we can plead insanity in court? If you're insane, how can they accept anything you say as reasonable?
