Julie and Saeed fed me dinner Friday night - thank you! Also got in some good castle crushers and bomber man time.
Saturday afternoon I headed to a party with Jeremy and Emaily. I only knew a few people, but it was a fun crowd. After hanging out there for a few hours Julie and Saeed picked me up (thanks again) and drove me to Dublin where we had dinner with Ben who was in town and Adam (from aepi) and his wife who apparently live about 10 miles from me. It was great to see all of them. Then headed back to the party for a bit before heading home.
Sunday I killed a lot of the day watching TV, but eventually got off my butt and headed to Planet Granite to go climbing with Jeremy and Nina. I passed my belay test so I won't have to deal with that next time I go. I had a few moments where I thought I had suddenly gotten a lot better and a few other moments where I failed on stuff I expected to be able to do.
Overall great weekend.

Sore Forearms
Just got back from 5 hours of indoor rock climbing, this time at the Sunnyvale location of Planet Granite. I think that I improved some since last time, but I think if I really want to make progress I'd have to go more often than once a month.
Being a beginner I tend to climb near little kids. Especially towards the end of the day as I get tired I tend to curse every time I reach for a higher hand hold. Hopefully I didn't teach too many kids new words. Well, I'm actually not that creative when I curse so at least they would have only learned one or two.
I've rediscovered that if you are tired and hungry and you eat food you get less tired and hungry. Who would have thought?

Climbing
I headed up to Planet Granite with Jeremy and Emily and went indoor climbing for the first time. The easy paths were actually easy which was nice because I could succeed the first time and then step up the difficulty. Then once I couldn't do it I tried going down a few levels so I could get another success, at that point my arms didn't hurt, but they stopped producing force.
When I got back from Egypt I realized just how close the deadlines were on the two projects I've been working on which quickly snapped me out of the post-vacation why am I here and why am I doing this. It was also nice that there was a company wide shut down so everyone was going through that same recovery process.
I have a twitter feed. My user name is dsignoff. I'm not really using it, but maybe one day I will. Anyway just in case you're interested in following each others feeds.
